Adeola Olumeyan

Adeola Olumeyan is a strategic legal advisor and non-executive director with experience in pivotal areas like policy development, board advisory, corporate governance, ESG, compliance, legal risk management, and intellectual property. She is a Notary Public and a certified Board/Corporate Governance Auditor and Trainer, with demonstrated ability to consistently deliver value across businesses and obtain successful outcomes in a varied range of legal, governance and regulatory matters.

Amongst her many professional achievements, she led a legal team to success in advising and structuring a complex, landmark share acquisition transaction for a major free-to-air platform operating across Africa; was pioneer Nigerian Chairman of the Middle East, Africa & South-Asia Subcommittee of the Legislation & Regulation Committee (LRC) at the International Trademarks Association (INTA); and has served in two industry Ministerial Committees set up by the Hon. Minister of Information and Culture in 2019 and 2021. Adeola has provided legal advisory services and spearheaded the development and implementation of robust corporate governance policies within organizations such as Channels Media Group, IDS Africa, Junior Achievement Africa, Jackson, Etti and Edu.

She serves on a number of Profit and Not-For-Profit Boards as a non-executive director and mostly as Governance Committee Chair.

Devoted to the development of the legal industry, she serves as the vice-chairman of the Media and Entertainment Sector Group of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (Nigeria chapter) and vice-chairman of the Inhouse and Government Counsel Forum of the Nigerian Bar Association (Lagos branch).

She is a fellow of the National Institute of Credit Administrators; advisory board member of the African Corporate and Government Counsel (ACGC) Forum, advisory board member of Women In the Profession (WIP) Nigeria chapter; member, The Boardroom Africa, Nigerian Bar Association, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators Nigeria (ICSAN) and Society for Corporate Governance, Nigeria.

Recognized for her thought leadership and expertise, she is a speaker, panellist, and trainer, both in Nigeria and internationally, addressing critical topics such as Intellectual Property (IP), Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, strategic planning, negotiations, and business management for SMEs. Her expertise has been leveraged by prestigious organizations such as ICSAN, the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), the Nigerian Institute of Credit Administrators (NICA), and Kaizen Academy to train leadership teams from prominent institutions including the Bank of Industry (BOI) Board of Directors, the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce, the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration, Ibadan Electric Distribution Company.

Adeola has also been invited to share her insights with peers in local and international law firms such as Herbert Smith Freehills (top 10 leading law firm in the world) and Aluko and Oyebode (top tier law firm, Nigeria).
